December 2025 – USB 3 Adapter Hardware is Available
The USB 3 Adapter boards are received from production and RP2040 control firmware is up and running.
April 2025 – NLnet Funding for USB 3 PHY Implementation
NLnet Foundation approved a grant application for a project to evaluate a possibility and to imlement a USB 3.2 Gen.1 (5 Gbps) PHY based on the GateMate FPGA transceiver.
The project includes development of an adapter board for GMM-7550 module with a USB Type C connector and an RP2040 micro for configuration and control of the GMM-7550 module.
